Impatient? Usually it's my fault: when I'm running late and other people aren't speeding down the road so I can speed, too!

Broken heart? From love? Twice. From encounters with God, truth, beauty, music or art? Too many to count.

Book to movie? None that I can think of. The book is ALWAYS, ALWAYS better!

Thank a teacher? Miss Scargel, my first grade teacher, for teaching me how to read.

Pie? Yummo! I like pumpkin with whipped cream on the top. I also like chocolate with meringue, coconut with meringue, lemon with meringue. No fruit pies. Except lemon, of course.

When do you feel impatient?
Unfortunately, far too often. Particularly when I'm having a conversation with my husband and I ask him a question and he, for no apparent reason, is silent for 30 seconds before answering. Grrr.

How many times in your life have you had a broken heart?
Depends how you define "broken." In some ways, my heart is broken right now.

Name a book you would like to see made into a movie.
How about a series instead of one book - the Betsy-Tacy books. Even though they'd probably massacre it completely.

If you could thank one teacher for what they taught you, who would it be and what would you thank them for?
I had Dr. Levering for four theology courses in college. I'd thank him not for the theology he taught me - although I learned a lot - but for the example he sets with his life. He's an amazing theologian, and yet one of the most humble men I have ever met.

What is your favorite kind of pie? Blueberry, hands down.

Impatient- Waiting for my husband to come home from work. It's so exciting when he does.

Broken Heart- Hmmm, twice.

Book to movie- Nope. I'm with MamaT.

Teacher- Ms Bruce, 9th grade literature. She gave me so many great books from her own collection, and she always made me feel smart.

Pie- Cherry. Yum!

Impatient: Too often. Driving, waiting for my patient husband, being put on hold for someone else's caller ID (mmmff)....

Broken Heart: It seems that I can name about a dozen or so situations that break my heart right now. Don't get me started.

Book: I'm with the previous commenter - I'd much prefer any book over its certain mangling by Hollywood.

Teacher: My icon teacher, but I thank her each time I see her.

Pie: In summer, lemon meringue. In winter, Boston cream. Actually, I'd be happy to eat that Boston cream any old time of the year...

Impatient? - When more than 2 people at a time are trying to talk to me. I am making progress, though, because it used to be when more than one person at a time was trying to talk to me.

Broken heart? Before I was married, a few times. After, a few more. Since I have had kids, thousands. Just watching them learn and grow, and knowing this will eventually lead them away from our home can break my heart. Feeling just how much I love my husband and my kids breaks my heart regularly, but I know this is just opening my heart to more love.

Book into a movie - "The Secret Life of Bees".

Thank a teacher? My 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Latch. She was tough, but kind, and taught me to do my best, and then be content with my effort.

Favorite kind of pie? Apple

Appetizer: When I have an appointment I can't be late for, but the people who are supposed to take me or ride with me don't seem to care about being on time.

Salad: At first I had a pretty simple answer to this; but after reading everybody else's, I have to say with Arwen, "Depends on how you define 'broken.'"

Soup: I'd like to see how modern filmmakers would adapt George Orwell's _Nineteen Eighty-Four_. Yes, I know it's been done before, but there are really so many ways to interpret Orwell's themes that every generation can have its own utterly unique film version (or even several!).

Main Course: As much as I'd like to thank all my favourite teachers through the years, for now I'll single out Jojo Laurel, who put up with me all through nursery school.

Dessert: Apple pie, I guess. I don't usually eat pie, though.
