Tax policy and the SAHM has long been a hot button issue for me. Even before I quit working and came home (I was a working mom for the first 7 years of Zteen's life, so I know the drill) I argued for IRAs and child care credits for those who chose to stay home.
what really distressed me when it passed was the "MUST WORK" policy for moms getting TANF (used to be AFDC). These moms, whose kids would really benefit from focused maternal attention (given that their dads are usually totally absent), are being forced to warehouse their infants in substandard day care so they can work minimum wage or make-work jobs.
