Friday Five, Mamas!

| | Comments (8)

No new Friday Five today, so I picked one from two years ago:

1. What are the first things that you do in the morning to start your day?

2. What are the last things that you do at night before going to bed?

3. What daily routine have you recently added to your day?

4. What routine do you wish you could get rid of?

5. What's the one thing that makes you feel like something is missing if you don't do it some point within your day?

I'll answer in the comments boxes, but later today, since I've got errands to run this morning!

1. Grab my Diet Dr. Pepper and sit down to blog.

3. Blogging
4. Eating between meals
5. I know it's pathetic...but I am lost without Regis and Kelly.

I'm really not as big a heathen as I sound....
I pray before I go to sleep. Every night.
*grin*

4 treating others poorly
5 I guess I'd have to agree with reading here.

PS to Smockmomma - I gave up snacking for Lent and have done ok so far. If I can do it, I know you can!

1. First things? Give thanks for the day and ask God not to forget me even if I forget Him, get dressed, drink a diet Coke.

2. Before bed? I MUST read at least 15 minutes before I turn off the light no matter how late it is! After the light goes off, I thank Benjamin (my guardian angel) for his hard work during the day and pray.

3. New routine? Lenten reading, which I hope to continue daily after Lent is over. I'm reading the daily reading in Conversations with God. I also hope to re-establish my daily prayer using Magnificat. I've fallen down on that lately.

4. Routine to break? Putting random bites of food in my mouth at inappropriate intervals.

5. Something missing if I don't? I'd like to say pray, but that's not always the case, and in ANY case would make me sound holier than I am, so I'll be honest and echo Smock. Read. I have to read every day, or I just can't be settled.

1) Hit snooze. Hit snooze. Stumble to the bathroom.

2) Talk on the phone. Get ready for bed (what my mother used to refer to as "doing your bathroom stuff"). Pray about 8 minutes of the Rosary before it slips out of my sleepy fingers.

3) Blog cruising.

4) Is it a routine to "not file"? I'd like to stop not-filing my paperwork.

5) Talk to a good friend. Play Minesweeper.

1, Morning offering, shower, first dose of caffeine.
2.brush and floss, check on the kids, pray
3.Putting the dogs out before I sit down at the computer (the dogs are a relatively new addition to our lives after 25+ years of marriage
4.Flossing. I know it's a good thing, but I hate it.
5. Pray. And brush and floss.

1. Shower, quick prayer, bowl of cereal, brush teeth, out the door to play at being a corporate hack for the day.

2. Brush teeth, read something of a religious nature (I'm studying John's Gospel in depth and going through the Book of Job right now), say the Rosary and typically fall asleep two-thirds of the way through it.

3. I read the daily Mass readings and reflect on them for at least a half hour first thing when I get home from work to "decompress".

4. I tend to take afternoon naps when I get a chance. Not a fruitful use of time.

5. I'd miss either the afternoon time with the daily readings and reflection or the pre-bedtime spiritual reading and prayer. I can sometimes skip one or the other, but never both.
