....from Julie D. over at Happy Catholic and Erik over at Erik's Rants and Recipes (both links are to the right).

List the first five movie quotes you can think of. They must be from different movies.

Here are mine:

1. "Your father was a hamster, and your mother smelled of elderberries!" (Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

2. "What knockers!" "Why, thank you doctor!" (Young Frankenstein)

3. "As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again!" (Gone With the Wind)

4. "Stand up, Miss Scout. Your daddy is passin'" (To Kill a Mockingbird)

5. "My mama says if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!" (Bambi--can you tell we just bought the new DVD today?)

and one extra

6. "We have so much in common. We both like soup." (Best in Show)

Your turn!

And here's a bonus from the overflow at my place:

6. Why don't you have a pancake breakfast? (Deckchair Danny)

OK, Hmmmmm...

1."Practically perfect in every way!" (Mary Poppins)

2."I caught you a delicious bass."(Napoleon Dynamite)

3."Si, amores perros, si." (Amores Perros)

4."To and fro, stop and go, that's what makes the world go 'round." (The Sword in the Stone)

5."Stop looking at me, swan!!" (Billy Madison)

Hee Hee.

How I envy you! I can't remember movie lines. Songs, I can remember.

the fun part would be to post the quotes and make us guess the flix!

the smock5:

"i'm your huckleberry."

"life is pain, highness. anyone who says differently is selling something."

"i can't put up with you people because you're bastard people!"

"thank you, gentlemen. someday i will repay you...unless of course i can't find you or if i forget."

"it was a good death."

"You, sir, are in need of a soothsayer." "How do you know that?" "I wouldn't be much of a soothsayer if I didn't." (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum)

"Why did you come to Casablanca, Monsieur Rick?" "For my health. I came to Casablanca for the waters." "What waters? We are in the desert." "I was misinformed." (Casablanca)

"Messieurs, Mesdames, je vous présente--Roi de Coeur!" (King of Hearts)

"Your job isn't to die for your country--it's to see that some other poor bastard dies for his country." (Patton)

"...because this poor child is a Mongolian idiot!" (There Was a Crooked Man)

OK, smock I got most of yours.

"i'm your huckleberry." Tombstone.Own it, we love that movie

"life is pain, highness. anyone who says differently is selling something." easy. Princess Bride

"i can't put up with you people because you're bastard people!"
Waiting for Guffman

Ok, not sure of your others but I'm sure my husband could name them. We're wierd though, we quote from movies all the time. The Guffman quote being one of our faves.

OK Smock, try these on:

1. "We're not homosexuals, but we are willing to learn."

2. "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son" (the fact that this is also a quote from my guidence councilor is incidental)

3. "I can put you in Queens on the night of the highjacking." "Really? I live in Queens. Did you put that together yourself, Einstein? Got a team of monkeys working 'round the clock on this?"

4. "Uh, does anyone here speak English? Or possibly ancient Greek??"

5. "I think that I am familiar with the fact that you are going to ignore this particular problem until it swims up and bites you on the ass!"

(aw, man, smock - you took mine! "Life is pain, highness...")

'Have fun storming the castle!" (Princess Bride again)

"Dad, I could use a little wind, here." (Tommy Boy)

"I hate my job... I'm just... not gonna go anymore." "But what about bills and stuff?" "I never really liked paying bills... I'm not going to do that anymore, either." (Office Space)

"I don't carry Dapper Dan, I carry Fop. Now, if you want Dapper Dan I can order it fur ya, have it here in a couple a'weeks...." "Well. Ain't this place...a goegraphical oddity! Two weeks from everywhere." (O Brother, Where art Thou?")

I'm no good at this. Can't think of a 5th! (Fun trying, nonetheless!)

ok, kenny, 1 is stripes, 2 is animal house, 3 is usual suspects, 4 is one of the indiana jones movies, and 5 is from "i think we need a bigger boat."
