That Smart Elisabeth Elliot!

One reason we are so harried and hurried is that we make yesterday and tomorrow our business, when all that legitimately concerns us is today. If we really have too much to do, there are some items on the agenda which God did not put there. Let us submit the list to Him and ask Him to indicate which items we must delete. There is always time to do the will of God. If we are too busy to do that, we are too busy.

Lord, help me to take your yoke on my shoulder, not a yoke of my own making. May I learn from You to be gentle and humblehearted. May I find that your load is light.

Just what I needed to read today! God is good to send me memos, isn't He?

I needed this, as well. I feel my life is racing by and I think it is because I am always either ten miles down the road, or ten miles back.

That quote filled a real need for me today. Would you mind posting the title? I'd like to add it to my list.

Thank you.

Jeannine, it's from her book A Lamp for My Feet. I've not read the whole book, but I get a daily devotional written by Elisabeth Elliot every day, and that quote was this morning's devotional.

Dear MamaT,

It's a wonderful quotation, reminiscent of St. Therese's marvelous line, "All of our sorrows are in yesterday and tomorrow."

shalom,

Steven
