Shirts? Button top down. Does anyone do it the other way???

Sandwich? Currently? Smoked turkey and cheese on whole wheat bread. All time? Bacon sandwiches--with, to the horror of most people, mustard instead of mayonnaise.

Family project? Painting our whole wooden fence, a la Tom Sawyer--only we stained it instead of painting and it took FOREVER to get it done the way it was supposed to be.

Phony? Who hasn't? Life would be unbearable if we all acted exactly how we felt all the time. If I feel crummy, and I run into you, why should YOU suffer from my bad mood? In a deeper sense, though, at nearly 50 years old, I am pretty much just who I am.

Letters or postcards? Only when I'm on vacation. Oh, and I write thank you notes, when necessary.

Buttons? Top down

Sandwich? Feeling healthy - anything with sprouts and avacado. Decadent - Monte Cristo from Bennigan's.

Family project? Just lots of yardwork.

Phony? Not nearly enough. I wear my heart on my sleeve and so often wish I could hide stuff better.

Letter or postcards? I love writing letters, and am positively addicted to stationary.

Shirts: top down.

Sandwich: Thick-sliced tomatoes and sharp cheddar cheese with mayo on wheat bread.

Family project: I helped insulate the attic in the late '70s, when I was 11 or 12.

Phony: A lot of the time! Mostly when someone says something stupid and I have to pretend that their opinion deserves respect.

Letters: I haven't written letters so much since I got E-mail. That has sort of replaced the mail *and* the phone for me.

Shirts: Bottom up (wow, I feel very alien all of a sudden).

Sandwich: My occasional obsession is garden fresh tomatos on white toast with mayo and salt and pepper. Otherwise, thin sliced turkey on whole wheat (lightly toasted), cheddar cheese, pickles, onion, lettuce, honey-mustard, butter and mayo, tomato and bacon and/or egg. Or any of the various dagwood-type sandwiches my husband makes. Mmmmmm.....

Family project: We wallpapered the dining room when I was 11. My strip is the one in the corner behind the cabinet - the one with the upside-down print. (whoops!)

Phony: Sometimes, usually to impress someone or try to be polite. But I suck at it, and I'm always embarrassed a few minutes later when I realize what I said/did/did not say. I really really loathe small talk.

Letters, definately. I don't write as many as I'd like (like yuro, email has kinda pushed out letter-writing), but I enjoying writing and receiving letters. It makes me feel in solidarity with all the letter writers of history.

Who know I was so odd to button starting in the middle :o)

Miz, you're not so strange. I start somewhere in the middle, too. Then I work down, then I go back to my starting button and work up.

Favorite sandwich -- cold sandwich: Avocado, tomato, honey-mustard on whole grain, either with or without smoked turkey. Hot sandwich: grilled Wisconsin cheddar or cojack (HAS to be from Wisconsin) on a nice grainy wheat with thick slices of vine-ripened tomatoes nestled inside. Yummy.

Family project -- my family didn't have projects.

Phony -- uh...when I was still acting?

Letters or postcards -- both but not enough of each. Too much e-mail

Shirts? Top down

Sandwich? Tomato, mayonnaise, pepper

Family project? helped paint the house

Phony? Yep. When trying to be polite. So, actually I get really annoyed when other people are really insensitive towards me!

Letters or postcards? Not if I can help it

+JMJ+

Appetizer: I start at the bottom.

Soup: BLT (Am I the only one who finds it funny that the "Soup" category asks about a sandwich?)

Salad: When I was a child, I was trusted to help with projects. :(

Main Course: The warden of my uni hostel thought that I was such a sweet, quiet resident that I didn't see any reason to let her see my crazy, boisterous side in the entire two years I lived there. Everyone else knew what I was really like, but she probably still thinks of me as the nicest little doormat she has ever met.

Dessert: I am the world's worst correspondent. When my friends request something on paper, I oblige them; but I usually just send e-mail.

Buttons? Top to bottom.

Sandwich? I would have to say grilled cheese. White bread. Butter. Mmmmmm.

Family project? My sis and I helped install sod when we moved to Florida and a new house. Wow, was that fun. Hauling grass "pieces" for a full day. But it was immediately satisfying and I like that kind of project! I was about 12.

Acted Phony? Oh, probably when I was rushing for sororities in college.

Letters/Postcards? I still have one friend who keeps my mailbox from getting dusty. She is a friend from community theater during my teenage years, and lives in Pennsylvania now. Usually we only have time for postcards these days. But they are a bright spot in my day, when I receive one!
