And I've read exactly ONE of them.

So...which did you read? (They do sound fabulous...wish I could spend about a month just reading. No housework, No work-work. Just reading.)

I hadn't read any of them! But I put a few on reserve at the library! Thanks for the link to this list.

Ellyn, I have read Mariette in Ecstasy by Ron Hansen, which I recommend wholeheartedly.

Barb, I'm busy printing out the list.....like I need more on my list!

I haven't read any of them. But I just finished Tender at the Bone. Loved it. Gracias.

Read what you like Mamat, not what others tell you to. what they say are classics are maybe not to you

Hi Karnak! Haven't heard from you lately! I never read from any list that I don't make up for myself----but I do love lists other people make, 'cause they give me suggestions for things I'd never find otherwise. I take it with a grain of salt, though, because I think that some critics go for too much darkness and freakiness--maybe because they're jaded from reading so much!

Aisling, I really like the book, too. There is a sequel to it, Comfort Me With Apples. I haven't read it yet.

I have more faith in your taste than that! Too many so-called-experts!
Take a peek at my blog. I've tagged you both!

i saw that when i googled her to see what she is doing now. and grabbed it, along with her garlic and whatever book (came out in 2005). And a reccomended by a friend book. And a random novel or two grabbed from the New Books section because they look good. Now if only I could find some time to actually sit down and READ them all ! We have homeschool field day tommorow so I should totally go to bed.
