musicrack, otherwise known as the iTunes store

take tetris, online gaming, bubblewrap and ben and jerry's pumpkin cheesecake ice cream, stuff it with chocolate, infuse it with caffeine, and then wrap it in a chocolate-dipped waffle cone topped with graham cracker crumbles and and a dollop of whipped cream, and you will have the only thing more addictive than the iTunes store.

songs on iTunes are only ninety-nine cents each, but download 32 - YES, THIRTY AND TWO - in the space of a few hours and not only are you out thirty-something-bucks, but you've let time completely slip away from you.

i will say this, i'm totally stoked to hop on my treadmill and get serious about my (avon breast cancer) walk training. and that, according to smockdaddy, is money and time well spent.

curious about the latest downloads? it'll be like hanging out with me at my apartment in college, with a couple of currents thrown in for good measure. it's over two hours of awesomeness, my friends.

Mmmmm Musicrack. Them is some good tunes.

This list makes me feel old, since there is NOTHING on it I would listen to.

Sigh.

i daresay, mamaT, that you would totally LERVE "don't explain" -- it's an old billie holiday song that damien rice and lisa hannigan remade with herbie hancock. it's absolutely haunting and very beautiful. ::sniffsniff::

I've stopped buying songs from the iTunes store. I can get the same tracks to download at Amazon for the same price or cheaper and they are higher quality (256kbps) and have no DRM so can be played on any device.

Though I prefer the iTunes interface better and will be happy when music companies allow Apple so see most of their catalog without DRM as is the case with iTunes Plus.

I am also not much of an individual song buyer. I always buy whole albums. I have usually found that I like other songs on an album better than the song that got all the air play.

Now the iTunes app store is a different story, I love getting applications for my iPod Touch.

It is an amazing thing to be able to find a particular song from my high school days, or whatever, and "bring it home" with the click of a finger. It gives me a small thrill, much like when I would have $.59 in my pocket and jump on my bike and drive to the record store to buy a 45!

Several of those titles bring back good memories, Smock. Especially NIN and Marcy Playground. :D
