I used to do it for the money, just so I'd know where my next meal was coming from. There was a blood bank a few blocks from my hole-in-the-wall, and they'd let me give three times a week at 10$ a needlesuck. The motive was charity toward one's self. I'm trying to move beyond that now.

Selling plasma pays better.

I tried, but they won't let me. I lived in Europe for 10 months in 1980-81, and anyone who has spent more than 6 months in Europe since 1 January 1980 is considered a risk for mad cow disease. You only need to have spent 3 months in England.

MarkR: I don't do it for the money. But we live near a university campus and there is a plasma center 3 blocks from my house. There are always college kids in and out of there!
