You can not believe how happy I am with the verdict. Yesterday I would have placed money on the jerk going free....

Well, the same group of peolpe will determine this man's fate. Imagine the howling if they give him the death penalty? I really hope not. For lots of reasons, but mainly the automatic appeal. There are loads of really smart people who feel like the prosecution never proved ther case, but instead mounted a "why you should hate this guy" campaign around a lot of circumstantial evidence. This is not to say that I believe the guy is innocent, but I do believe that given a different jury, at different time, with a different prosecuter that Mark Geragos would have little difficulty demostrating jury bias and creating reasonable doubt surrounding the guilt of Scott Peterson. A second degree murder conviction in the death of Connor is truly a victory for everyone, including the pro-abort groups (even if they will never be able to recognize it).
