Donna's Friday Five

| | Comments (6)

1. Would you be willing to commit perjury in court for a close friend? What if your lie would save his life?

2. Would you be willing to eat a bowl of live crickets for $40,000?

3. Would you have one of your fingers surgically removed if it guaranteed immunity from all major diseases?

4. Would you be willing to give up all television for 5 years if it would induce someone to provide for 1,000 starving children?

5. Would you accept $1 million to leave the country and never set foot in it again?

Let me say this. I was surprised by how hard it was to answer some of these questions. That's no tribute to me.

1. Lie for a friend? I would be tempted if my friend were innocent.

2. Eat a bowl of crickets? I actually think I would try this one. I mean, people willingly eat bugs in other parts of the world.

3. Amputate a finger? Do I get to pick the finger? If yes, maybe so. But then, like Donna, I assume I would be run over by a truck the next day.

4. Give up TV? Absolutely.

5. Leave the country? No. Because I have ties and obligations to other people than myself. My parents are not in the place where they could travel, and I would not miss sharing their lives for any amount of money. The discipline of place is strong for me.

1. Only if I were certain he or she was innocent of the charges. Even then I think it would be difficult.

2. Can I deep-fry them first?

3. No. It would make it hard to keep my organist job.

4. Yep.

5. Absolutely. I've visited a lot of places I liked, and not coming back here wouldn't kill me.

1. Sure.

2. Are they the little crickets or those really huge black grasshopper ones? Probably, though.

3. I'm gonna say no.

4. Of course.

5. I would. And then I could feed those starving children without giving up TV : )

1. I'm Italian. Of course I would.

2. Yes. Hell, I'd do that for $400. Crickets are perfectly edible.

3. No. You're going to die anyway.

4. Easy to say "yes," knowing that it will never come up. If it meant no movies, then "no."

5. Yes, in a heartbeat, so long as I could pick where I could resettle.

1. Possibly, it would depend on the friend and the whole situation in general.
2. No, I couldn't handle it. The money would be great, but my husband would have to eat the crickets.
3. Uhm. Nope. I like my fingers.
4.Yes, I rarely watch TV anyway. Wait do DVD rentals and movie theaters count? I like movies, mostly watch em on the computer though.
5.Thats a hard one. I wouldn't mind moving to Ireland and living there, but would that really be fair to my children. Probably not. There is VERY little I would do for money though.

1. Lie for a friend? absolutely.

2. Eat a bowl of crickets? no way.

3. Amputate a finger? nope.

4. Give up TV? not without further clarification of the provisions.

5. Leave the country? i wouldn't leave TEXAS permanently, much less the USA. are you people high?
