And she knew what she was talking about because then as now, there are just a certain number of the population are are straight-up non-fiction people. But not our kind of people huh?

this will make you cringe ... the other day a manager of a restaurant saw duncan (5th grader) reading a novel and said without a hint of amusement, "wow! that's a really big book. . .and there aren't any pictures in there? you must be smart, huh? i hate reading."
